Greetings and salutations! Welcome to my first post on my Beachbody Coach blog! The purpose of this blog is to share information on my Challenge Groups, various Beachbody products, and the Beachbody Coaching opportunity. I’ve learned quite a bit over the last 20 years or so about what foods to eat in abundance, what foods to limit, how often to exercise, and what kind of exercise to do. I was athletic in high school, excelling at softball with a 62mph fastball and a .600 batting average, but I never lifted weights and I didn’t do very much cardio outside of basketball season. In college, I was inactive other than many steps everyday going to and from classes. After college, I gained weight due to excess alcohol and plenty of fried food. I ballooned up to around 225 lbs by the time I was 24. So my best friend and I went on a diet together. We stuck to the food pyramid religiously and did plenty of cardio, and we both lost at least 25 lbs. That didn’t last long, however. Fast forward to age 29 when I had my first child. I gained many lbs that pregnancy, and found myself at around 225 lbs again. I tried Weight Watchers, and it worked if I worked the program. And it didn’t work because I didn’t feel accountable to anyone, not even myself. I joined a gym when I was 31 and tried out some of the weight equipment, and lo and behold, I lost 40 lbs that year! You’d think I would have realized then that one of the secrets to making real changes is to include adequate resistance training in your exercise program, but it just didn’t click at the time. I got pregnant at the end of that year, stopped going to the gym, and gained 40 lbs all over again. Since then, I’ve gained and lost the same 20 lbs or so, until I decided to jump in as a Beachbody Coach.
Coaching is like a magic pill for me (although we all know there really is no magic pill to have the body we want, right?). I needed something that would make me feel accountable everyday, and this is definitely it! As a coach, I run challenge group to support others in their wellness journeys, I sponsor other coaches so they can help change lives (or simply get a discount), and I have a reason everyday to make good food and exercise choices. Maintaining my health is not just to have the body I want, or to have my body be able to do the things I want it to do. It’s not just to set an example of healthy habits for my daughters, and it’s not just to feel better and therefore be better to the people I love. It’s also now my business. Now I’m an entrepreneur who is the example of what Beachbody can do for anyone. If the exercise and nutrition programs don’t work for me, how can they work for you? Coaching is one of the best things that has come into my life, and I plan on it changing my life forever. I will be fit, nourished, and financially stable for the rest of my life thanks to this business. Now who wants to come along with me?
